Nodar Dumbadze Memorial Written by Giorgi Kekelidze Narrated in Georgian by Lasha Gurgenidze Narrated in English by Nika Gordeziani Nodar Dumbadze (1928 – 1984) was a popular Georgian writer and one of the most popular authors in the late 20th-century Georgia. His first poems and humorous stories appeared in the Georgian press in 1950. He edited the satirical magazine Niangi from 1967 until 1972. Most of his fame came through his novels Me, Grandma, Iliko and Ilarioni in 1960, to which the memorial is raised in Mziuri Park, Tbilisi. His works are remarkable for simplicity and lyricism of the prose, humour, and melancholy coupled with optimism. Most of his major works have been dramatised or filmed.
