THE FEDERAL HALL

In collaboration with The National Park Services

The National Park Service is partnering with Talking Statues to celebrate USA250 by bringing two iconic figures—George Washington and Alexander Hamilton— to life in unforgettable ways.

At Federal Hall, overlooking Wall Street, George Washington will share his remarkable story. Visitors will hear about his daring crossing of the Hudson River on small boats, his arrival in Manhattan, and his pivotal role in driving the British forces out of the city. Washington will also speak about his vision and determination to become the  first President of the United States, offering a personal glimpse into the man behind the legend.

Nearby, at the Grange, Alexander Hamilton will tell his own story—one that’s deeply woven into the fabric of New York City. He will share insights into his life and legacy, including reflections on the wildly popular musical inspired by his life and the dramatic duel that ultimately shaped his fate.

Starting July 4th, 2026, these voices will be accessible to the public in groundbreaking way. Anyone visiting Wall Street or Hamilton’s historic home at the Grange can scan a QR code or through the Talking Statues App receive a phone call from the statues themselves, allowing the stories of Washington and Hamilton to speak directly to them through their phones.

This collaboration blends history, technology, and storytelling to create an immersive experience that connects people to the founding era of the nation. It’s more than history—it’s a living dialogue with the past, designed to inspire and educate the next generation as we celebrate 250 years of American heritage.

GEORGE WASHINGTON &
ALEXANDER HAMILTON AS TALKING STATUES

George Washington

George Washington, the nation’s first president, set the tone for American leadership with his courage, humility, and dedication to the republic. On April 30, 1789, he took the oath of office to become the first president of America at Federal Hall in New York City.

Today, a bronze statue outside the hall marks that historic moment. With Washington’s hand outstretched, with the help of Talking Statues, it recalls the day he became president and reminds visitors of the principles on which the nation was founded. Facing Wall Street, the monument stands at the crossroads of history, democracy, and commerce—just as Washington once did.
