In the small park in front of Nakskov Station stands a bronze statue of Victor Cornelins, created by artist John Kørner in 2016. The statue was erected as part of Nakskov’s 750th anniversary celebration and is one of several works honoring the town’s rich cultural history. Victor Cornelins’ story is unique—he came to Denmark as a young boy and throughout his life became a passionate advocate for education, culture, and integration.As part of the Talking Statues project, Victor Cornelins’ statue has been given a voice that tells his life story directly to visitors.
