About
In 2025, Talking Statues made their way to Ishøj, bringing a unique blend of art, history, and storytelling to the city.
Today, Ishøj proudly hosts three Talking Statues that have quickly become beloved landmarks.
Two of these statues depict animals: an imposing polar bear carved from granite and a lively oystercatcher bird, known locally as the klyde.
Both sculptures connect visitors to the natural world and the coastal heritage of Ishøj.
The third statue is a striking stone monument featuring water flowing down its surface, symbolizing the vital role water plays in the town’s landscape and life.
Together, these Talking Statues invite passersby to engage with Ishøj’s stories, culture, and environment in a new and interactive way. Ishøj itself is a charming coastal town in Denmark, located just south of Copenhagen. Known for its modern residential neighborhoods and seaside appeal, Ishøj also boasts cultural attractions like the Arken Museum of Modern Art.
The town offers a unique mix of urban living and natural beauty, with parks, beaches, and a vibrant community spirit. These Talking Statues add a fresh, creative dimension to Ishøj’s rich cultural landscape, welcoming visitors to explore and experience the city’s story in an engaging way.
