The Monument to Fyodor Dostoevsky in Saint Petersburg is a modern and unique statue that depicts the famous Russian novelist sitting thoughtfully with his hands folded on one leg. The statue is located on Vladimirskaya Ploshchad, a significant square in the city.

Dostoevsky spent most of his adult life in Saint Petersburg and wrote several of his renowned novels during this period. The monument, erected in 1997, stands as a tribute to his significant contributions to Russian literature.

The statue is not just a monument but also a symbol of the city’s literary heritage. It stands in a location that holds significance in Dostoevsky’s life, as he used to sit on a bench near the Vladimir Cathedral, just a few meters away from the monument.
