The autobiography of this great American begins: “I was born in Tuckahoe, near Hillsborough, and about twelve miles from Easton, in Talbot County, Maryland.” We honor Frederick Douglass with a statue at the Talbot County Courthouse, as well as in programs throughout the year, including Frederick Douglass Day in September and the annual Juneteenth celebration of abolition.
