Stående og liggende høne

Among Glostrup’s Talking Statues, “Stående og liggende høne” by Paul Ranslet stands out in Præstegårdshaven. This tin bronze sculpture was acquired at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition in 1984 and has become a beloved part of the garden ever since. Originally featuring two hens, one was stolen in 1985, leading to a new casting to restore the artwork.
Ranslet’s art often portrays people, birds, and animals with a lively, almost breathing quality — something you can truly sense in these hens. We’re excited to share Talking Statues, a project that brings Glostrup’s public art to life through 44 sculptures that speak to you in both Danish and English. It’s a fresh, interactive way to experience our city’s vibrant artistic landscape.
