The Tin Man statue in Chicago’s Oz Park is a nine-foot-tall sculpture made by artist John Kearney. Kearney was well-known for producing sculptures out of automobile bumpers, and at the time he created the Tin Man, he was continuing this practice (Chicago Park District). The statue greets visitors at the corner of Webster and Lincoln Avenages at the entrance of Oz Park, which is located in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood (Alamy). The statue was installed in the park in May 2001, and it is joined by statues of Dorothy and Tin Man (Chicago Tribune). So, if you ever find yourself in Chicago, make sure to visit Oz Park and hear the Tin Man statue in person talk.
